i'm really looking forward to this new year. i hope it is filled with the same joy and happiness that 2009 has given. to 2009, i bid farewell and to 2010 i welcome you with open arms. i know will have wonderful moments in life and love. :P

on my way to zamboanga city in 8 hours.

this will be the first time i'm going home to my province this decade. it's been so long since i went home there. the year that time was 2000. i was a fresh graduate from elementary and had recently been accepted to the manila science high school.

but did you know that zamboanga city is independent from the 3 zamboanga provinces? namely zamboanga del norte, del sur and sibugay. yes, it is its own city just like any city here in the metro. it is also one of the oldest cities in the country and one of the largest in the world in terms of area with a total are of 1,483.3849 km². it's native language is chavacano. i guess i should start practicing my chavacano skills.

i'll buy myself some vintas when i get there.

love is like fluids and electrolytes

love is like fluids and electrolytes.

i'm K+and she's Na+. i'm confined in the interstitial and she roams freely in the intravascular. wherever she goes a lot of others follow. she's so near yet so far. but when we get so close together, there's still this semi permeable membrane that keeps us apart.

love is like fluids and electrolytes.

december blog up: nmat, missing stops and a few more.

after a long absence i write again here in my blog to post some updates. hopefully i could write here more regularly since one of the reasons why i started this blog is to practice my writing skills. anyway here is a few updates about me in order of how i remember them. :D

i missed my stop...

yes, and it happened so fast. it was my last jeepney ride home for today and i was thinking about this someone. we aren't really close, not even a dent close. but i was thinking about this person in such a deep manner that when the jeepney stopped at my destination, i didn't get down. not until i realized that i'm seeing the place i'm no longer supposed to see for that ride. good thing i realized it soon enough and i was able to get down a good walking distance from home. i find it really funny since this is the first time this has happened to me in a real long while.

nmat, national medical admission test

today i took the nmat for the first time in la salle taft. i was really nervous since i didn't study at all. and to think i was aiming for a 99 percentile. but i know from the start that it was impossible. it took 5 1/2 hours for the entire 400 items to be answered. part 1 was 200 items for a good 3 hours which included a lot of abstract reasoning with figures and numbers. what really took my time was the visual perception part. looking at those images really took a toll in my body and brain. and the aircon was pointed at me. i should've brought paracetamol. part 2 was a bit more familiar and easier for me to answer. it's a 200 item test for 2 1/2 hours. it covered biology, physics, social sciences and chemistry. and as expected the psychology and socio-anthro subtest destroyed me. huhu.. i should've enrolled in a review center. hopefully i was able to do good with the test. well hopefully God heard all my prayers and gave what i asked. i thank Him for everything.

youth for christ

yes! they're my new family now. i had so much fun when i am with them. the camps, the bondings and the worships. this family brought me closer to God, and i am glad i made the decision to join their ranks. they've opened a lot of doors for me to enter. and i promise i won't waste any of those opportunities this family gives me.

for who we are is what God makes of us. for all is as God wills it.

Confessions of a pharmacology student part 3

it's finals week this week and i'm in cramming mode. i hate being forced to study since i'm an extremely slow learner, and extreme for me is an understatement.

pharmacology is it

the moment has come and now i have to study those drugs again. i tell you they should've had a naming system for drugs similar to those in naming organic compounds. i didn't live up to my promise that i'll give myself a month's worth of preparation for the finals. now i only have 2 days left. i just finished the cardio drugs awhile ago and later i'm off with the rest. hopefully everything i've read will stick through my mind until exam day.

two week blogdown

ok i'm such a big lazy baby lately when it comes to posting here in my blog. i'm not even really sure if a have readership, but for the sake of blogging and having it available in a moments notice, i'll keep posting stuff.

getting something new

i just bought an iphone 3g 8gb last sunday. i finally got my dream phone for a long while. all that is left is my dream dslr camera. i just hope i get that this christmas. well my review so far is that i'm quite disappointed. well in the first place the battery life isn't that long. i have to charge everyday and sometimes i have to do it in school cause the phone sucks energy from the battery like a dike releasing water at full speed. another on that i didn't like is that it can't send media via bluetooth. the same is true about receiving media. on the better side, i really loved the touch screen. my previous touch screen phone sucked bigtime. the built in virtual keyboard is a big relief especially when it comes to texting and surfing.i also love the various apps i could download from the app store. overall i give it a 7/10.

1st murder down 11th street

ok, this is my promise to tell you what happened last september. to be honest it really wasn't pleasant. ok you must be wondering why it's the 1st murder down 11th street. well it's a figure of speech or some sort of read between the lines thing. it totally depends upon how you view it. i won't be posting the reason why here. well, just ask me about it and maybe if i'm ready to share it then you'll see why it's my 1st murder down 11th street.

you're like gravity, i can't help but fall for you...

obvious now isn't it?

my last ditch attempt to make a blogpost this month

hey hey! it's been more than a month since i made a post here. a lot has happened and how i wish i remember all of them to write about here and you guys have the patience to read it all.

on volunteering and service

i, together with a couple of old and new friends plus some ci's, all agreed that staying in mdc and waiting for further instructions from above would be a misuse of precious time. so we all decided that we would all go and offer our services to any one of our available options of donations centers. we left mdc at around 11am and had lunch at blue wave. our ci's gladly treated us to a wonderful and gracious pizza. wow! after that we headed straight to the mega tent at ortigas for our volunteer work. we were greeted shawn, such a wonderful and beautiful lady, and was delighted to hear that we were all in the nurisng profession. that task that was given to us was to segregate drugs. we also cut the 'banigs' of drugs into more manageable pieces. the problem, we don't have scissors. so here i was, thinking we can't work this way, so when our ci's were unable to purchase scissors in the nearby mini stop i headed out to find a way to buy some. so from ortigas extension in mega tent i walked to the nearest mini stop and inquired if they have scissors, they said 'no.' so i headed to the next mini stop which was approximately equal to mdc-moa in distance. when i arrived, they gave me the same answer and pointed to the 3rd mini stop which was already in san miguel avenue. there were and additional 2 mini stops there and both, to my severe dismay, also had no scissors to sell. so i went to 7-11 which was in between and found only 1 scissor and 3 cutters. i bought all of those plus 2 1L bottles of mineral water. on my way back i crossed upon an additional mini stop and to the most weirdest of all coincidences also had no scissors. how come they had a sudden shortage of scissors around there?! when i was about to go back, i thought of going around to get back to the mega tent since i didn't want to experience the long walks i did to get to where i currently am at that moment. what happened is a series of event of me getting lost around ortigas walking with nothing but two liters of water and my bag to burden me while finding my back to the mega tent. i found myself inside a residential village and found the exit, to my great relief, right infront of the mega tent iteslf. when i arrived at the tent, and to my other great dismay, they already had scissors to use. :( the next thing we did was to segregate all the drugs and repack them in seperate boxes to be ready for shipping. we also repacked alcohol, medical utensils like gloves and gauze, and baby diapers. the bayanihan part came when we had to load all the repacked food reliefs in the volunteer cars for shipping. we fell in line (was my grammar correct?) together with other volunteers and passed the goods from one person to another. that moment had a lot of comedy into it, courtesy of me and some other people who laughed with me. we had absolute fun with everything, especially when you share it with your friends and the people who reprimand you in classrooms. i loved every moment of it. hopefully, tomorrow would be equally or more fun in every way. i'm proud and honored to have served my countrymen in need. i know my 0.1% would go a long long way for the 100% we need to recover from this great tragdy brought about by typhoon ondoy.

here's a couple of photos of today's work:

MY THOUGHTS: how come nobody is asking for feminine napkins? there are a lot of women in those areas and they bleed every month.

SIDE NOTE: i found a bumblebee car (chevy camaro) for sale in ortigas.

the remaining of this entry and the video for the month of september will be posted tomorrow or sometime this week

MTG: Naruto Set

after a long absence, 8 days actually, i've come back to give a status report on my life.

case presentation

being a group leader for a case pres is not fun. lol. you have to coordinate everything, make sure people are doing their job without spoiling their fun and you have to be strong for everyone. show them that you're not giving up. show them that they can do it. hopefully i was efficient enough to do the job. wednesday is the day we present everything. i just hope that we're prepared on that day. because i know, the panel will destroy us if weren't.

magic the gathering: naruto set

being a big fan of naruto, i've decided to integrate my favorite anime to MTG. i used magic set editor, a program that allows you to create cards for the game based upon your creativity. actually trying to integrate the ninja world to MTG is something i found out to be really difficult. i had very little freedom to work with the techniques and characters and their abilities. i just imagined the chakra elements to be part of the 5 mana sources in the game. with a little bit of inspiration from the various episodes, manga chapters and websites i've seen, i think i've made a good start in creating my set. i'm not done yet and i'm actually aiming for a 100 card set. making the rares is easy, it's actually the commons i have difficulty creating.

confessions of a pharmacology student part 2

woah! wtf happened? i spent days and sleepless nights reading that pharma book and to my dismay, those that appeared in the exam are those specifically that i wasn't able to read. talk about being fair, right? those i've read appeared for no more than 20 questions out of the entire 100. my goal of getting an 80 crumbled right before my eyes. the faintest feeling of positive energy came from the fact that everyone i've talked felt the same. but still, you'll never know until see that score right infront of you. i just wish that the Almighty heard my prayers. i am offering whatever i get to His greater glory.

let's play battleship!

there was this sudden boom of american population in pasay these past few days. i was told that there was these supposed aircraft carrier within manila bay. i went to check if it was true and to my surprise, it is! this is the first time i saw an aircraft carrier, and not just any aircraft carrier, it's a nimitz class. the most powerful one ever to date. here's a couple of photos:

i took these photos from the telescope at moa. it was very cloudy that day and it's difficult to focus the cellphone cam in the scope. so sorry for the poor resolution.

garfield makes me laugh

i'm an avid reader of garfield in my.yahoo.com. it's part of my daily internet routine to read it when i open up my browser. it's a good laugh and i recommend everyone to make it a part of your internet life to. just to share, this is the strip for today:

can't wait to blast them goblins!

yes, there should be a medical term for students having a toxic dose of academics. how do you think they should name it, academetoxicity? wtf?! how about toxicity to pharmacology? pharmacotoxicity? or how about pharmaconeuritis for a brain swelling in pharmacology concepts. i just hope that after all this reading and studying, i get to use it in that 100 item multiple choice exam.

new starbucks tumbler

i just bought a new starbucks tumbler the other night. i was thinking of buying a new one this past few days since i can't use my other two since the first one is a mug which has no covering in its lid and the other one looks like their venti sized cup for cold drinks. so i bought the tumbler with my week's savings and i chose the one that you could design your own inlet. and it was really worth it since i get to change the appearance of my tumbler anytime i want. all i need is a picture and a printer to print it. so yesterday moring i got on my laptop and went to the site starbucks suggested to look for designs. to my dismay they all look trivial and boring. i mean why do you wanna see autumn leaves in your tumbler? so i went to google and search for one of my favorite animes, to-love-ru and got a picture of haruna, lala and mikan. here is the raw picture that i got.

the raw file that i got

i adjusted it to the right size and printed it. i placed it over the template, traced the outer edges and then cut it. i got it to fit my new tumbler the first try. it looks really great on my new tumbler. here is a couple of photos.

how i just wish that i could've used a photo paper instead of a bond paper for a more glossy finish. nevertheless, i'm sure i'll make kenneth envious with this one.

on blasting goblins and being a hero

have you ever wondered how one becomes a hero in a fantasy world filled with various monsters and endless adventures with only a pen, paper and dice? you may think being and author to a fantasy novel would fit the paper and pen but how about the dice? well it's a table top game called dungeons and dragons. well it all works when us (players) listen to the dm (dungeon master), who narrates the story, acts as the antagonist by playing the monsters' part and manipulator of the fantasy world. it's really weird for anyone who doesn't know how to play the game to watch us play. it's actually a game of endless posibilities, literaly! i actually play a wizard, my role is to make the situation of the battle favorable to our party. no i don't ride a white horse and summon light from my staff but i do make myself invisible and turn the enemy into statue like figures to be smothered by our avenger. we play on a weekly basis every sunday evening and i can't wait for our game session tonight. curious about dungeons and dragons? check their website here.

the best mmorpg in the world

i've been wanting to play world of warcraft for a few months now. i love the game and it's a good distraction to studies, which adds a lot to the fun, but hell lot expensive. you see when most mmorpg go for about P100 a week, wow goes for about P750 a month. talk about expense! and to top it all i still have to buy the original expansion set which will cost me about 4k. though it's a one time deal it will really hurt my budget. how i wish i could just ask my mom for it. unlike before, good grades aren't enough for my mom to be convinced to get me that game. talk about disappointment. hopefully after the midterm exams i could come up with some way for me to buy the game and play it. it will be a great stress reliever for me.

Patrick Star is Majin Buu's son!

i just wanna share this pic that my classmate shared to me. for a while there it made me laugh hard.

confessions of a pharmacology student

aminoglycosides
gancyclovir
cephalosporin
co-amoxiclav
bactrim
nausea
vomiting
diarrhea

these terms are easy to memorize, yes. but to master them all at once of the same time, i don't think a semester is enough for this. i really do appreciate the subject, but come on, them expecting us to have at least a good memorization of everything really is asking a bit beyond what they're giving. probably the only ones who can accept this request are those studying under the best prof of them all, ma'am S. i like the subject, really, with all my heart, but i really do wish the subject loves me back. ^_^

still under cephalosporins...

1st gen
2nd gen
3rd gen
4th gen

i wish i could pick them up from my memory when the test paper is in front of me.

good luck to all of mankind. :D

Minions Come Back!

what a crazy 15 hour gimik we had! it all started at 1pm at moa. i met up with kenneth, zee, cholo, earl and sarah. we ate at jollibee where we were joined by sarah and earl. after eating we played an hour of dota. lol! finally after playing we granted cholo's dying wish of drinking. so we went to bed scene for some low cost beer. sarah had a dacquerie of course. we spiced the drink with a hookah, wild grape flavored! kenneth had his first try of smoke. after a while jessica joined us but to her sorrow we barely have the time nor the resources to continue. but to her relief rose's condo in cityland was available.

the ninety proof effect

cholo bought a gilbey's gin, 90 proof, for us to drink. as a beer only kind of drinker i didn't drink any. but the deadly effect of alcohol is really not about the proof or alcohol content, it's about us guys going down to play dota and leaving the alcohol with the girls to feast upon. by the the time we went up, which is around 3:30am one of the four girls drinking is already on the floor. i don't really know what term to use to describe what happened, but i know the term 'basag' is a complete understatement. skipping all the messy and yucky stuff that comes with that 'basag' moment we finally had that girl take a bath and after that to go to sleep. we watched various comic videos after that to relieve the stress. we went home around 6am.

wikipedia displayed the Phil. flag wrong

here's a screen shot of the entry of wikipedia about the korean war (don't ask me how i got there). to my low surprise, i saw the philippine flag displayed upside down. i know it can be shown/hoisted with the red side up at the premise that the Philippines is in a state of war with another country. since we're not in a state of war, i wonder why it is displayed that way.

K-POP

k-pop is getting a big debut here in the philippines. mainly because of the songs in boys over flowers. the thing is, other k-pop artists were able to market their songs here too. a good example would be 2ne1, in which one of our very own sandara park is a member. if you guys aren't a fan but are curious enough to know what k-pop is, tune in to myx hit chart. they have three k-pop songs there with 2ne1's 'fire' at number 2. chances are you have heard the songs already but never really paid attention to it.

here's a simple thought...

since sandara is now freaking famous, and a bit more pretty and sexy as well, what do you think is going through hero angeles and joseph bitangcol's mind right now?

drink of the week:

milo - just ask in person why

video of the week:

since i'm a bit generous today, no need to wait for the next myx hit chart just to see 2ne1's fire

wacky laptop pics, baby busty's christening and akaye's 22nd bday

this is a really fun week. i really had fun with everything we did.

first blood

no it is not dota. it's my experience with the delivery room. my buddies in i got the very first case for the rotation. and there i was, in the delivery room, waiting for the baby to come out. the mother was the one i mentioned in my previous entry. she was pushing her baby real hard

Soul Brother

but is also lifting her neck and butt so the effort is divided. i was already pitying the baby since it being pushed out and then sucked back in every time she gives up. after about 30 mins or so, yes it took around 30 mins, the baby was delivered. so as the 'actual', it's called 'handle' in other hospitals, i am tasked to pull the placenta out. and i was this excited like this little man waiting to open his gift for his birthday and pulled out the placenta. it was a good experience and a memorable one. since it's was my first time to pull out a placenta i didn't know yet how to handle it properly. so as i was lowering it down, i accidently pointed it downwards and blood gushed out spilling over my socks and slippers. whoa... i got myself there. good thing is that the mother wasn't sick with any blood borne diseases and i don't have any cuts on my feet. the marks are still there and i haven't totally removed it. i think i'll keep it there as my remembrance of my first baby delivery.

wacky laptop pics

during our rotation this week, we had a chance to take some wacky pics from our laptops. it was fun and funny because our software could alter the picture i can take. well it is a given if you have a mac since it has iphoto but it was different for me since my laptop is not a mac. but i rediscovered youcam and to my surprise it could also do what iphoto can. here is my fave pic.

basty's christening and akaye's 22nd birthday

akaye's son basty was christened today. she's one of my closest friends who's got a baby already and basing on what i saw this evening, i'm glad that she's very happy with her baby boy. basty is a very cute boy. and saying that he's cute is a real understatement. he's very 'nakakagigil.' well i'm glad to be part of his welcome into our faith and christendom. i know he'll be a good christian. after the baptismal, we headed to akaye's reception/birthday celebration. we had dinner and watched the avp prepared for her and her son by her friends in upm dentistry. i just wished i could post it here to show you guys since it's real sweet and cute, well for akaye of course. after that we chatted for awhile and took a few pictures. we left around 8pm and had a good 'on the way home' chat with my masci friends. it's really good to have had bonded with them after a few years separation.

the patient who had second thoughts

first day of duty today. it was fun and really memorable in the usual of ways except for this particular situation that makes it unique. after assisting the mother who gave birth, my buddies and i took care of everything she needed. vitals, charting, positioning, changing her clothes down to being a chatmate. there is this particular line she said that really struck the the three of us.

"dati asar na asar ako sa mga taga madocs
kasi lagi pa dumadaan dun yung jeep na
sinasakyan ko kaya ako nalalate sa trabaho.
yun pala sila rin ang mag-aalaga sakin ngayon
nasa ospital ako."

really memorable and touching...

end of the week blog up: rle, throat swabs, roach legs and reunions

it is saturday yet again. this was the final week for our skills in rle. next week will be the start of our hospital duties. i feel excited somehow. i just don't like the place we're going to, tondo. i just don't like what the place connotes. maybe as time passes i may learn to like it there since i'm going to spend a 4 weeks of hospital duty there. i'm hoping i get to use what i've learned this pass few weeks and hopefully get a high grade as well.

getting the green slippers...

sandy and i went to market market, sm makati and glorietta today to look for the dreaded slippers we need for our rotation. actually we could buy it in wet markets but our local wet market doesn't have the slippers we need. so off we were to market market first. we searched fasion market to no avail. we saw the style we needed but not the color. to think there were thousands of slippers there, none of them matched the slippers we're looking for. after market market we went to sm and glorietta. we went to beach walk in sm and found what we're looking for. but to our sever horror not in the color we needed. oh the despair! after much searching we decided to use an alternative to solve our problems. we painted the slippers. actually i did cause we just bought the materials there and i did the painting myself here at home. and the result, the paint we bought didn't stick. and it sucks. now i have to go to a wet market tomorrow morning to search for that dreaded slippers.

throat swabs up my nose

last friday was our sched for our throat and nasal swabs. let me tell you, that nasal swab hurt and itch like shit. no it's not all that painful, 2 out of 10 actually. but that cotton tip applicator irritated my nasal passage enough to make a sour face. lol. and it itched after i took my sample. and mdh med techs really have no student customer respect.

roach legs on our sopas

after my swabs at mdh, i visited upm as i usually do. it was around 8pm already and i was lucky enough that my brods and sisses are still at school. we went to sinangag express to have dinner. it was all fun until one of my brods saw a roach leg in his sopas. good thing we were in a good mood. we didn't make any complaints about it, although i know that we really should've, but instead even had the humour to make jokes about it. we even shared it to our sisses as a joke. good mood saved us from a brutal complaint/confrontation with the staff there. after the dinner, we simply left the establishment.

ooh what's that over there?

took a year and a half for this to happen again

this one really took a lot of time and effort to pull. then finally after a year and a half it happened again. i met up with faith for the first time this year. lol! i never had the chance to bond with her last year. the last time i saw her was december 2007 when we went to ek. we met so that she could hand me the copy of man's search for meaning that i asked for. it was really nice of her to give it for free since the copy looks brand new. actually it's a photocopy so it looks freshly photocopied. we shared a few laughs and some short stories of what we've been up to for the last year and a few updates about our personal lives. it was brief but fun.

end of the week blog up: rle, transformers 2, sports cars

this has been a shitty week. aside from the stress and the headaches, my first draft for this supposed entry suddenly disappeared. this isn't the first time this has happened to me but it still pisses the shit out of me.

how we were taught that safety comes first before airway

my professor in pharmacology asked us an supposedly nclex style question. him being him, he related the question to psychiatric nursing, though i still can't connect psychiatric nursing to his question. his question was, what will you do if a person slipped because of a banana peel then suddenly had respiratory arrest. the choices were (a) assess the client, apply first aid then throw the banana peel, (b) call 911, assess the client then apply first aid, (c) assess the client, call 911 then apply first aid, or (d) throw the banana peel, assess the client then apply first aid. do you have any idea what is the correct answer? neither did i when i was asked but according to our professor the correct answer is the last one, throw the banana peel, assess the client then apply first aid. why you say? because he claims that safety should always comes first before airway. throwing the banana peel ensures the safety of the immediate environment and guarantees that no other will slip because of the banana peel. this was a bit contradictory to the typical ABC (airway-breathing-clearance) protocol i've learned. though still the discussion did enlighten me a bit. i think that there is some truth to what he's teaching us through that question. he even had the humour to include yu yu hakusho into the mix. when yusuke and toguro fought. during the fight, they were both class A, but when yusuke defeated toguro he became class S. and in the world of rankings in any anime, rank S always goes first before rank A. and according to our least humorous professor, that's one of the reason safety is first.

rle is fun sometimes, especially if all ret dems you did for the day is 95%.

yes, i'm proud of it! i did in all of my ret dems for wednesday. i was fortunate enough to master the skills but the sad part is the mastery has a duration of only one performance. so i still need more experience to fully master the skills.

sad part of the week.

i lost my notebook last wednesday. all of my notes are there. and the sad part of it, i have a ret dem for neuro this monday! not to mention the hard work i gave to customize that notebook, annotations of sandy and allaine, and that it cost me P750. awts!

spending the night at someone else's house.

last night we spent the night at the minions mansion. it's the first time we used jp's apartment for such activity. i brought my xbox 360 along and we played naruto, street fighter 4, gears of war 2 and resident evil 5. both banjo and jp was shocked to learn that jill was an antagonist for a while in resident evil 5 and the fact that this particular resident evil can be played by two players. the drinking was quite short for all four of us but we did enjoy the cans and cans of vienna sausage we ate and the big bag of m&m's we chewed on.

jp enjoying his time with mr. sandman

transformers 2, a big bag of coins and a dog tag i finally found at the right price.

after the overnight we had a schedule for a group outing to watch transformers 2 at rockwell. as poor as i am, i was able to bring along my savings for a few months in a small bag. it's P1,666.65 worth of coins! i saved it through the coins i bring home everyday from spending my allowance. it was approximately around 8 lbs in mass. it was real heavy and very uncomfortable since i don;t have a bag with me. the good thing is that the wonder full employees of fully booked gratefully accepted my coins when i requested for a trade. the coincdence was that they were having a shortage in coins! so it was such a wonderful fate for me to have went there instead of some other store. and they were honest too! i initially estimated my coins to be worth only around P1,000++ but they patiently counted them all and it did amount to P1.6k++. i was really grateful and pleased that my coins were converted to bills and are now back into circulation. thanks to the wonderful people at fully booked rockwell.

transformers 2 was a real blast! P170 for a ticket was a real steal for that kind of action filled movie. but to parents out there, the language is a bit mature so please do provide proper guidance to your kids. megan fox is real hot.!no disappointments there. what i really did notice in the entire film is how they really bragged about the united states military. i think this is their new kind of psychiatric warfare during peaceful times. to show their military might through movies like this one. the cinemas in rockwell are a real treat! compared to the g4 and gb3 cinemas theirs are a notch higher, especially in the quality of the seats and the size of the cinemas.

there was a small display of porches and audis in the ground floor lobby. the cayman s and carrera s really caught my eyes. i really want to have one of those babies.

2009 cayman s

2009 carrera s

i crossed upon this small stall that sells ako mismo dog tags for the original price of P40. i bought one since they sell it at P60 in school and even fake ones that are just stickers at P70 in recto. here is a photo of my original piece at original price.

before i end, a simple message.

i did my best,
but it wasn't enough,
good luck!

today is papa day, plus other boring stuff

today is the international father's day. have you ever wondered how this day ever came to existence? it was a story about a daughter who loved her father so much, a civil war veteran, wanted to honor her father but at the same time also honor all other fathers. her idea was mostly laughed at and ridiculed. her critiques even suggested that they wanted a fishing day instead. but her persistence paid off and in 1972, president nixon made it to a law that every third sunday of june was to be celebrated as father's day.

today is my very own study day. we have to do our ret dems tomorrow so i had to review my skills for physical exam. reviewing is relatively easy, it's retaining them in my head that's hard. ever since i suffered that blow to my head when i was a kid, my memory has been a little bit joggy. i stayed in the club house for about three hours. good thing it's not hot and i was able to sit down in one of the comfy lounges. the internet there was fast, i hit around 200++kbps download speed while downloading the final 4 episodes of season 5 of house md.

my last activity for the day was to go to mercury drug in market market to buy a few medical supplies. good thing they have what i needed so my journey there wasn't a real waste. i also had the chance to listen to paolo santos as he on tour for his 'back to basics' album. he still has that kick he had during his prime in the music industry. i took a video of his version of photograph which i embedded here.

my journey home was the usual. i walked home. i took a different route, somehow closer to the dark edge of the fort rather than the lighted side walks. it was literally pitch black. i could hardly see anything and the only reasons i saw anything was because of the passing vehicles. the trip was memorable while it lasted.

second day is lecture day

it's our second day in school. unlike yesterday, which was filled with dull and sleepy moments, today was completely the opposite. we had our lectures about physical exams for four different systems and tell you what, it's not that easy to digest. i had the opportunity to fill up almost 1/4of my brand new P700 notebook. though it's my messy and large handwriting that is at fault. on the bright side i'm happy that i'm finally starting live out my student nurse life. it's finally time to get serious with everything.

my former classmates told me that hey had a really boring lecture. fortunately for our group, we had the opportunity to be taught by dynamic, humorous, knowledgeable, adept and comically green clinical instructors.

i've been spreading around the tnl blog through my classmates (check out my links page). the entries are really humorous and packs some punch. i recommend you guys to go and visit the blog.

and as you know, when you're in a medical school (health care based) people do get health conscious. so when it started to rain heavily around 5:00 pm, the dismissal time for the entire 1000++ (approx) population of 3rd year students, this kind of scenario happens.

first day high

first day of school really should be one of the two most exciting days of the school year (the second one being the last day of school). you get to see your friends again, get released from the cage you call home, and get to have your allowance again. and one of the things you'd expect on the first day of classes is that you get to go to school but don't really go to class because supposedly all the professors are still cramming with the details of their own classes to handle and with that you get to out with your friends whom you haven't seen for a few weeks and catch with all their summer lives. however this particular first day isn't like the rest. this time, we actually had RLE class, and RLE classes last for the entire day! so just like the jug heads we all were, we all just stayed in our funda lab and made noise as we wait for our orientation.

orientation was just as typical as the ones we had in the past. the speaker talked about the usual stuff they had to cover, details of our clinicals, the equipment we had to bring, details about lates and absences and what to do in case we had to file incidence reports (that's the only report i don't wish i have to do in the near future). we're jam packed inside the lab since they had to let the other section sit in. just imagine the heat all those bodies produced. our discussion of the grades got me worried a bit. there were only five criteria and two of those weighed more than 30% and they included attitude (so high school) in the criteria. i'm not really big with ci's.

lecture was more dragging, we can barely hear the instructor since we were seated at the back, most of our questions are answered inadequately and we are expected to master all the physical exams. mastery of the pe is fine for me, i will do my part, but hopefully we do get more effort from our instructors. i know they're doing their job well but i'm just asking for a little bit more. i took a few shots with my cel, it's illegal to do so, so hush hush! ^_^

If it's not Arnold, then it's not Terminator

we just watched terminator salvation last night. i was totally out of place since i haven't seen the t1 to t3. thing is, even if i haven't seen the prequels i still somehow enjoyed the experience especially the part when one of the viewers sneezed, the sound of which he/she produced sounded like a fart. arnold did a cameo for the film in which he appeared naked right before christian bale and started kicking his ass around the place. his cameo however looks computerized.

after the movie we played at timezone. i tried drum mania v6 since there were new anime songs added. i thought i still had the skills but apparently i was wrong. i totally sucked. haha! but still it was fun and i know i'd still play.

after timezone we went to yellow cab in macapagal to eat some pizza. it was chad's treat since he's the one with the job right now so it was twice as delicious for me. the 18" pizza apparently outlasted all 3 of us since there was this last slice that we could no longer jug down our throats. but it was tasty while it lasted. then we went down to the parking lot to play this little toy chad got from timezone. it really brought back the kid in all of us. it's this elesi that has lights in it that we could launch from a handle by pulling a string. we did a few launches till we got tired of it.

we went to malate to check out the bars we used to go to when we were young. then we saw this gay dude in totally gay outfit grab a guys arm and try to take him away from his girlfriend. LoL! it was funny to watch but it's scary if it had happened to us. after a few passes through the streets of malate we did a detour to warzone in vito cruz to play an hours worth of left for dead. the mouse pad sucks but it was fun since we get to kill zombies again.

we finally decided to go home. it was around 5:00 am. on the way home we passed by this dude lying in the island of south super highway. chad swore he saw blood. maybe it was a salvage, in the filipino sense of the word, or maybe he was just sleeping. but still we had our doubts if he's still alive.

my first entry

this is my new blog. i have been absent from the blogosphere for almost half a decade now. i haven't been able to maintain my high school blog back then to survive past my college days. this new endeavor, i hope, would be different. i still haven't decided in my style of writing but i most certainly know i would be writing both in english and filipino, which really depends upon my mood upon writing any future posts.

with that i would like to share this video of untouched by the veronicas. both ladies are so damn sexy! how i wish i could see more of their types in the music industry. enjoy!

i really love the "la la la la.. la la la la.." part. :D
