this is a really fun week. i really had fun with everything we did.
first blood
no it is not dota. it's my experience with the delivery room. my buddies in i got the very first case for the rotation. and there i was, in the delivery room, waiting for the baby to come out. the mother was the one i mentioned in my previous entry. she was pushing her baby real hard but is also lifting her neck and butt so the effort is divided. i was already pitying the baby since it being pushed out and then sucked back in every time she gives up. after about 30 mins or so, yes it took around 30 mins, the baby was delivered. so as the 'actual', it's called 'handle' in other hospitals, i am tasked to pull the placenta out. and i was this excited like this little man waiting to open his gift for his birthday and pulled out the placenta. it was a good experience and a memorable one. since it's was my first time to pull out a placenta i didn't know yet how to handle it properly. so as i was lowering it down, i accidently pointed it downwards and blood gushed out spilling over my socks and slippers. whoa... i got myself there. good thing is that the mother wasn't sick with any blood borne diseases and i don't have any cuts on my feet. the marks are still there and i haven't totally removed it. i think i'll keep it there as my remembrance of my first baby delivery.
wacky laptop pics
during our rotation this week, we had a chance to take some wacky pics from our laptops. it was fun and funny because our software could alter the picture i can take. well it is a given if you have a mac since it has iphoto but it was different for me since my laptop is not a mac. but i rediscovered youcam and to my surprise it could also do what iphoto can. here is my fave pic.

basty's christening and akaye's 22nd birthday
akaye's son basty was christened today. she's one of my closest friends who's got a baby already and basing on what i saw this evening, i'm glad that she's very happy with her baby boy. basty is a very cute boy. and saying that he's cute is a real understatement. he's very 'nakakagigil.' well i'm glad to be part of his welcome into our faith and christendom. i know he'll be a good christian. after the baptismal, we headed to akaye's reception/birthday celebration. we had dinner and watched the avp prepared for her and her son by her friends in upm dentistry. i just wished i could post it here to show you guys since it's real sweet and cute, well for akaye of course. after that we chatted for awhile and took a few pictures. we left around 8pm and had a good 'on the way home' chat with my masci friends. it's really good to have had bonded with them after a few years separation.
